False Wikipedia
This article was about a biography of a guy that had a made up biography on wikipedia an ended up on answers.com and websites like it. That is what is bad about wikipedia is that it can have false information. It can be modified and changed by anyone that wants to change it. When it first started out I remember using it for projects and everything but after about a year of it being out now no teachers allow it as a source. This guy in the article wanted to know who wrote it and the wikipedia owners couldn't even tell him because its completely random. It just goes to show you that words still hurt no matter how old you are. This guy was 78 and he went through a lot just to find out who wrote those fake things about him and still never found out. He said about that life lesson his mom showed him and it was so true. Once something is out there it can never be taken back. Especially in the internet once it is posted it is forever there even if you deleted it.

Good and Bad Procrastination
Everyone has at some point procrastinated. It eventually might catch up to you if you wait to the last possible minute to do something. Most people procrastinate school work until they absolutely have to do it. Its a hard habit to break once you start it. Good procrastination is ignoring the little tasks to focus on the big task at hand. Bad Procrastination is waiting on the big task and just doing the little tasks to procrastinate more. I myself have fallen victim to procrastination and waiting til the last minute to do a project. It takes away from doing your best work but at that point good enough is what your shooting for anyways. It is a good feeling having your shit done but it is also hard to stay on task and not procrastinate. Anyways procrastination can be used as a good thing or a bad thing just try to stay away from the bad procrastination habit.

Overscheduled students
Students today are expected to have good grades, be apart of clubs and sports, volunteer, and still work. The expectations out of all of these things are crazy and makes students stress out. I actually read something one day that said that students today have the same stress levels as a mental patient in a psych ward. That to me is crazy and someone should do something about it. Everyone wants to be accepted and the best they can be that is the reason why we do all of these things. I keep my grades as high as they can be, I stay busy with organizations and clubs, and I still have to work to pay to do these things. Students my age are stuck at minimum wage jobs and always get taken advantage of by the older workers. Since we are the lowest on the "totem pole" we get stuck doing the crappy jobs within the job that suck and we still get paid the same amount. On top of that customers that come in treat us like we are beneath them which is wrong but to keep our job we have to put up with it. Then once I got my college bill and realized after working for a whole year saving up my money I could not even pay for a semester of college. Everyone thinks that students just have fun and party while students are actually working hard and trying to make it in the world

Student Responsibility of Drinking
Students themselves are fully responsible for how much alcohol they drink. If you are ever in an uncomfortable situation where you think you can not handle then you leave, its simple. When you reach college most students are around 18 and legal your an adult. Adults know their limits on alcohol and control themselves. Alcohol is a part of many peoples lives and you have to know how to socially drink and not get destroyed. Everyone has nights that they drink a little too much but the people that die from it take it to a whole new level. Enjoy your nights out and make new friends don;t make it a goal to get hammered and not remember the night. To prevent drinking deaths you just have to be aware and sometimes you have to be a good person and help someone. If someone is making a fool of themselves due to be drunk then you tell their friends that they need to take that person home and they are done. If they are truly your friends then they will take you home and they will not even need to be told. Sometimes that person at a party lost their friends so you might have to step up and walk them home. Everyone should look out for one another in any situation I feel and especially when there is drinking involved.

students working too much
Kramer writes an article about students working in college. The college workload of studying and homework in reading is already time consuming. Then you add on extracurricular activities that are encouraged but can not be used as an excuse on why you didn't get your work done. Some students have part time jobs on top of that which is almost too much. I know once I came to college I had so much more school work in high school and then I got involved in a couple clubs and I'm pledging a fraternity right now which is almost like another class. The workload gets crazy and you have to learn to balance your time but at some point there is basically not enough time. School is super expensive and most college kids work in the summer just to get by. We make minimum wage or a little more then minimum wage and I know with working a full year at Subway and saving my money I could not even pay half of my bill for school. That is a sad reality knowing no matter how hard you work your job you still won't make enough money for school. That is why kids work during the school year but that can effect your grades due to not having the time to study. It is definitely part of growing up you just get busier and busier and free time comes once in awhile and it sucks but it is life.

Colleges with less men
I honestly think that there are the same amount of guys and girls in college. Just because there is more girls at one colleges does not mean that it is like that at every college around the nation. Albert Cruz is a guy that lucked out and knows how the system works. It doesn't matter what you know its all about who you know. In my personal experiences I have found this to be one of the most true statements about life. Like Albert said he got his job that pays more then most jobs that college students get after graduation he received from a customer. That is very lucky and good for him but I mean that is why everyone goes to college is to get a good paying job after. This guy gets an opportunity to get this job without college loans to pay off and 4 more years of school? That is a no brainer I personally think. Then the fact that they say girls are more mature and smarter then guys isn't completely true. They do get better grades sometimes but if you have met some teachers they are pretty bias with girls and guys, most guy teachers favor girls completely. Its just a part of life though and doesn't mean that guys can't get good grades they just have to work a little harder. Also when she says girls get better opportunities for colleges and scholarships is also true. On the other side in my highschool they were more on top of scholarships and had a plan for college. While guys I talked to were a lot less prepared but its just in our nature.

AIDS
Daum's point in her article about AIDS education is a really good point. She says "a corrosion of the soul,a chronic dishonesty, and a fear of themselves that will...do more damage then the disease itself." This is true because everyone is afraid of getting AIDS and nobody wants to give people AIDS. It affects your attitude in the face that your always scared of getting the disease. It makes you ask questions and have a general dishonest feeling of the person your about to sleep with. I like how she ended her article with "In this world, peace of mind is a Utopian concept." This quote shows her stand on AIDS education and I agree with her. When we had health and learned about sexual education there is a big chunk of it that is just about AIDS prevention and safe sex. When you learn about it they show you diseases and of course no one wants any of those things they are disgusting. That is how they get you to practice safe sex and for the most part it is a good strategy and effective for most people. At the same time it makes us scared to sleep around because we are afraid of getting AIDS. Then the example of the clothing company using pictures of models and some with AIDS written across their face and she called and asked if they actually had the disease. Which they did not and it was just another thing to scare the youth and make money off of it. Basically everything comes back to money and shaping how younger generations think and try to control them.

Drinking in college
Drinking in college is all part of the college experience whether you like it or not. Every kid I know goes out every weekend and has fun. College is stressful and its something to look forward too and a reason to get all your work done. It is entirely up to you how much you drink and everyone should know their limit. No matter how many awareness programs, studies, or suspensions you provide kids are still going to drink. Some kids take it too far but when you start blaming companies for that then that is wrong. They did not make that kid chug whiskey which is a terrible idea to any normal human being, they are just making a living and their living is selling alcohol. When I said that drinking is part of the college experience it is where you make a lot of memories with your friends. Those are the times you will remember not the times you sat in class or did homework. Just be safe when you do it and have fun that is all there is too it.

This issue of businesses using Facebook and other social media as a way to get to know who they are employing has 2 sides. You either think its wrong for them to view your profile or you think it is the persons fault for posting stuff they do not want an employer to see. I personally think companies should refrain from using Facebook as a hiring tool unless they really need it. I do think if it is between two people for a job and they are almost identical then you can look at their Facebook's. If one kid is dumb enough to post a bunch of pictures of him drinking and the other kid doesn't have those pictures then he is definitely going to get the job. If you think about it from a companies perspective they are paying you for your work and they are looking for the best worker possible. They can and will look at everything to determine if your the best and that is all there is to it. If your a kid just keep your drinking pictures in your phone to show people you don't have to post them online knowing your going to be looked at in a couple of years for a job to start your career.

Focusing on Friends
What Steve Tesich wrote about in his essay was true in the sense that guys don't actually talk about how much they mean to each other. Girls come right out and say how much they mean to each other along with girls to guys or guys to girls it is the same way. The qualities you share with your close guy friends are just having fun and laughing. Then whenever a guy talks to a girl they care about they talk about deeper stuff and how they actually feel. You behave differently with different friends because they are different relationships that you guys share. The scene where they pretend to fly to America in that truck shows imagination as a child with a friend. We all have had experiences as a child with imagination there are countless stories. As you grow older you lose that imagination and people change, relationships change. Then at the end of the essay he talks about how he is gonna free the women he knows, which I think he means he is gonna be more open with his friends on how much they actually mean to him. He puts that at the end and tells stories of his three friends in the body paragraphs to kind of show how he actually cares about them but doesn't know how to tell them.
